I chose this recipe because I wanted to use my unsweetened natural cocoa powder to make a brownie, and this one fit the bill. It also got excellent comments from bakers who’ve used the recipe.
- used 100% freshly-milled hard white wheat
- omitted the optional nuts
- baked for 34 minutes instead of the 20 to 25 as written
Even though I needed to bake my brownies longer than instructed, they are the most gooey, decadent brownie I’ve made — or eaten for that matter. This brownie made me weak in the knees. As I pulled the pan out of the oven, I had flashbacks to making little chocolate cakes in my Easy Bake Oven. To me that’s a sign that it’s been too long since I’ve baked this sort of thing and I hope to remedy that.
This recipe is on my favorites list for sure.
